NoMad Library Restaurant Review

An Oasis of Sophistication in the Vegas Desert

Nestled within the NoMad Las Vegas tower at Park MGM, the NoMad Library Restaurant offers a refreshing departure from typical Las Vegas dining experiences. This intimate, book-lined sanctuary provides an atmosphere of refined elegance that feels both timeless and distinctly contemporary.

Ambiance and Design

The moment you step through the heavy velvet curtains, you're transported to what feels like a private European library club. Dark wood paneling, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, plush leather banquettes, and warm lighting create an atmosphere of intimate sophistication. The space is divided into several cozy nooks and seating areas, making it feel more like a private home than a restaurant. Despite being just steps from the casino floor, the soundproofing is remarkable – you'll barely hear the slot machines.

Culinary Excellence

The menu, crafted by Chef Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park fame, showcases refined American cuisine with French influences. Standout dishes include the roasted chicken for two – a masterpiece of crispy skin and incredibly moist meat served with brioche stuffing and foie gras sauce. The black truffle pasta is another highlight, featuring handmade pasta generously shaved with fresh truffle. Vegetarians will appreciate the roasted squash with pumpkin seed pesto, while seafood lovers shouldn't miss the crudo selection.

Service and Experience

Service is generally attentive and knowledgeable, though occasionally uneven during peak hours. The sommelier provides excellent wine pairings from their extensive list, which focuses on Old World selections. The cocktail program is equally impressive, featuring classics with creative twists.

Value Considerations

While unquestionably expensive (entrées range from $42-98), the quality of ingredients and execution justifies the price point for special occasions. The tasting menu at $195 per person offers good value for those seeking a comprehensive experience.

Practical Information

Open nightly from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM (until 11:00 PM Friday-Saturday). Reservations are essential, particularly on weekends. The dress code is upscale casual – collared shirts and dress shoes for men are recommended.

Special Features

The private dining room, hidden behind a bookcase, offers an unforgettable experience for groups up to 14. The adjacent NoMad Bar serves excellent pre-dinner cocktails in a slightly more casual setting.
